S(kin) by Ibi Zoboi

Two teenage girls with magic in their skin. This fantasy verse novel blew me away. It is rooted in Caribbean folklore and explores the myths of the soucouyant, or fireball witches, who can change their skins, and prey upon others to give them energy.

There are so many themes covered in this book: a painful skin condition, race, toxic parents and jealousy.
