Hi! We're Emma and Claire.
Emma Draper

So many times, books have made me feel understood, and a bit less lonely. As an English teacher and mental health advocate, I’ve seen the power stories can have on our moods and how we see the world. So, it was my students who inspired There is a Book for That. They're also the reason I write my own YA novels about climate change, plastic pollution, mental health and friendship.
I grew up in Ontario, Canada, but I now live in the southwest of England with my family. From running book clubs for refugees, to teaching Literature, to doing the voices in my daughter's picture books, stories are always at the centre of what I do.

For years Emma and I worked in neighbouring classrooms, fretting about our students. Her idea for prescribing modern literature for stressed out students was so exciting to me that I couldn't wait to help!
My teen years were peppered with anxiety and little depressive spells so I would have LOVED a resource to navigate that. My absolute favorite sense of satisfaction comes from recommending the right book at the right time.

I grew up in a leafy suburb then taught literature in the Westcountry. A little writing and lot of yoga later, I now live in the Alps with my family, where I'm working on my novel and running retreats for writers, yogis and skiers.
